Theme:
Humanities and the digital age

Summary:

Since digital, virtual and informational technologies permeate the time we live in, humanities and modern technologies are not only intertwined but their relationship redefines our old views on humans.
Humanities are using digital technologies as instruments and new methods allow them to have novel insights in old problems. The field of new phenomena in the digital age opens many issues and problems yet to be tackled by humanities. There is an expanding area of scientific action and thought for perspectives in the fields of philosophy, pedagogy, history, psychology, language, literature and arts.

The increased importance of virtual and digital worlds in our everyday lives opens up new research possibilities. How does the modern IT world affect our common values and entire lives? Is the idea of humans and their identity radically changing under the influence of the Internet and social media? Which new phenomena are we faced with and what are the new challenges, benefits or possibilities they bring us, both as individuals and society? Are knowledge and education losing their old qualities or there are new possibilities opening for them? These are only a few questions to use as guidelines for your research.
